Earlier this year, my brother Rey and I embarked on a Photo a day assignment for 30 days. My results were mixed - you can judge for yourself here:http://bit.ly/14GylB. But we did have fun in the process and learned a few things. We're giving it another go. The goal is simple - make the best image you can each day and post for the world to see. Visit daily and let me know your thoughts. Rey's daily photos can be viewed here:http://bit.ly/rNig9. Thanks, Ed

Ed Spadoni > Unexpected guest for breakfast
9/12/09

We were finishing our coffee on this Saturday morning when my wife and daughter both froze in their tracks, staring out the kitchen window. In a measured and cautious tone, my wife softly said "Get the camera." This was a first for us, seeing a hawk on the rail of our deck, only about 12 feet from where we stood. I snapped away and we all liked this one best: the hawk studying us as we studied him (her?).

The soft effect is due to shooting through a window, a screen and a misty rain. If anyone knows just what type of hawk this is, we'd love to know :-)

Ed Spadoni > Red Fox steals third
9/9/09

Driving to work this morning, I happened to look into the neighborhood ballpark on my way past. I was surprised to see three young red foxes playing and running between 2nd and 3rd base. These were two of their more frolicksome poses. Once they spied me, they ambled into the woods behind left field.

I'll be looking again tomorrow.
